Yeah I remember that from last time I got the .308 itch… right when the shelves started really clearing out last summer I kept coming across .308 in the shelf, Mike’s, Gulfcoast And academy. That and 7.62x39…at least for a while anyway.Look at the price of quality mags as well.
Also, AR10 and LAR10. Two different animals. AR10's are not standardized like the AR15.
Yep, what better pick could you make for a genuine "battle" rifle. HK, Fal and Cetame are very good choices too. Add a 3x optic and.... done. Plus you can deer hunt with it.Yeah I remember that from last time I got the .308 itch… right when the shelves started really clearing out last summer I kept coming across .308 in the shelf, Mike’s, Gulfcoast And academy. That kinda stuck out that possibly for SHTF it would be to be a little more flexible in calibers
I just do not realize why they just keep turning out large frame AR's,almost exclusively in 308Win.
How much harder, how much more work would be involved to turn them out in 338Fed,7-08,243Win,358Win,even 308AI.

Anything in those rounds are more expensive to shoot. They become safe queens and special purpose hunting guns very few will buy. .308/ 7.62 NATO bulk is a different storyI just do not realize why they just keep turning out large frame AR's,almost exclusively in 308Win.

Our average engagement distance was about 35yds. About the only tactic we used was "overwhelm to overcome".
At one point the never been there, never done that " higher ups" tried to have some of us carry shotguns (Ithaca 37's). What a brain fart that was.
M3 GREASE GUNS,GUSTOV'S,M2 carbines,XM177E1 and 2's,Colt 609's,Stoner63's and M60's with no rear stock,no bipod and no front sight stuff, was the norm. An ocasional M-79 but 30 HE or parachute flare rds was too damned heavy.
We left "home" with no food (it was stashed or air dropped) a day or so in. On a BRIGHT LIGHT we carried very limited sustanance but we were in and out in 10-18 hours. We most always had PRU's in tow. Mean mo-fo's and would do all the"dirty work" that nobody wanted to hear about. We most always carried $2000-$5000 ( US and other) in cash for recruitment activities. Yep . . . MONEY TALKS !!
What we did carry was massive amounts of ammo and HE. Claymore's sometimes but too forkin' heavy. Usually 2.5lb blocks of C4. Then cut to order. Spliced to oder, molded to order or stacked to order.
Also little known,ASTROLITE. A ribbon or even a spray on explosive. Then, air dropped cold, BLU-82. SOME BAD SHEET !! We fuzed it and used it.
Sorry sir for the derail and/or ramble. I will gladly take down if appropriate. --- SAWMAN
There is a reason that everyone on the team carries a belt for THE SAW!We ( me included) are never to old or to smart to learn. --- SAWMAN

I had one. Damn near broke my left thumb on the reciprocating bolt handle and then I sold itMy hog murder machine, and actually the favorite rifle I own is a Galil Ace. This rifle is extremely reliable and accurate.
People say these are overpriced, and I actually agree with that when it comes to the 5.56 or x39, but the .308 is worth every cent. The two stage trigger is amazing.
