    Hey Guys,

My 90 year old mother has fleas in her appt from her cat. She is out of town with the cat, and I need to get rid of these fleas asap. Please someone recommend to me an exterminator that is good with getting rid of fleas. THANKS.

If you don't DIY it I used Orkin a few years ago when we had an issue and couldn't kill them with Ortho. It was a little pricey, but it the problem was solved.

Also, we used ukalyptis drops drops on our dog to keep them off , a drop between the shoulders and the hips.
Honestly works better than any collar/pill whatever, after you get rid Of them.

Years ago I lived with a girl who had a cat. We went on vacation, came back and the place was infested with fleas.
I went down and bought some Sevin dust and spread it all over the carpet throughout the house. Left it a couple of days and vacuumed it up. Worked great.
I'll bet Bengal roach spray would do the same thing though. Or maybe Talstar.
You can order Talstar a lot cheaper than buying locally.

After you put out a poison of some kind, plug in a few night lights and put a bowl of water with a little dish soap in it under the light. The fleas will jump towards the lights and fall to their deaths in the soapy water.

Thanks for the help guys. I did it all, LOL Went to DIY and got some powder that should take care of it. Before going to DIY I put down Sevin Dust and will vacuum that up before putting down the DIY stuff. I'm probably a walking toxic dump right now, but if the fleas get taken care of it will be worth it. Thanks all for your help. The folks at DIY were very helpful.

LOL I even have out the soap filled bowls of water under a night light. You do know now that if this doesn't work you all will have to answer to my mom. :)

If that doesn't work, give me a shout. That's what I do for a living.

What I can recommend, is before you treat the house, vacuum everywhere you can. Flea eggs actually hatch from vibration. The eggs can lay dormant for up to 6 months without hatching. Doimg this will help assure most everything hatches... then you can kill em.

Good luck, this has been the worst year I've ever seen for fleas.
