Great build Mark. And ...... if people hit up a place like King Line they will find a bunch of these that they can buy for the price of scrap.
As stated they are hard(I've tried to drill them before)and will take the abuse of most any pistol rd especially if it is lead, lead nosed and even a HP if large cavity. AND ..... if allowed to swing freely. I have a friend that shoots at these with his 30-30 and 45-70 using soft cast. --- SAWMAN
Been testing that to see what really happens, with it swinging freely i haven't found any splatter beyond 2 yds. 9mm, 40sw and 45acp. Most of it went straight down within a foot or two. But as with all metal targets being careful is the rule at my little range. The rest of the targets are 3/8 to 1/2 AR500 plate. I also tried to drill it and without drilling lubricant I couldn't get it done. Chaos
Guys .........Got a farmer friend of mine checking his "just put it in there" barn for some discs that he has replaced with newer ones. I will keep after him and if I am able to get some from him, will let ya'll know.
These will be free to me and free to you. Good Shootin'. --- SAWMAN
Updated stand for range, still have one more stand to build and 12 more targets to hang, and about 4 more loads of dirt and we should be set! Let me know Bill if you get your hands on some, I brought this one back from Oklahoma last year. Thx Mark
I will have some old disc blades as soon as I hit the barn, not sure what or how many I will find, do you need more and how many. I don't like the curvature so will not shoot at them but might be great for a frangible round. Who knows I might find something flat for you.
Frank, I have gotten a few more so for now I'm good, but thank you for the offer. I need to build the last stand get the rest of the dirt, and then push it up and I will up date the thread. If all goes well in a month or so it should be done. I just wish I knew where to get 10 free loads of dirt delivered! Lol
