Wanted something for rough and tumble use on here on the frontier. I like the 45 for outdoor use because it doesn't make your ears ring( deaf) like my 9,10,22 mag. Etc. if you have to actually use it.
Wanted a glock but didn't want to spend glock $$ for a wack around gun.
Only holds 6 rds total but only weighs 25.6 oz loaded. Lightweight is always better.
Picked up the XDS for a deal. Never had one but have heard good things about them.
Tried it as a cc gun. You forget it's there. Nice. Came in a case with 2 5rd mags. I've ordered the 7rd. With one in the pipe that's 8.
Been told here that if I carry it for cc I'm as good as dead.....at least 15 -> 145 rounds are needed....ok.
    I'm a gambler by nature.
I've heard 45 snake shot will cycle, have to get some and see. Would be nice. Always good to have another pew to fit a different need. I like the trigger and grip safety. Ordered a cqb retention holster for my chestrig. Still gonna get a owb lh belt slide for it.

    Behind enemy lines!
I think that’s an outstanding snag and perfect for “rough and tumble use on the frontier.”

Now that SA has a “new” line of pistols they are promoting (Echelon), I would expect to see the older XD models on clearance this year. Some of those models are no longer in production too, so they represent excellent bargains for the value.

I’m keeping my eyes open for a used SA model for the exact same reasons and uses that you picked up yours for.

They don't make the orginal XDS anymore. Now have the mod 2 xds with optic cut.

Ugggh. Don't impulse buy handguns. Looks like the mags are $30+ . I mistakenly assumed Springfield wasn't one of the " rape you on mag prices" company's. Oops.
Some models go on sale every now and then for cheap. Palmetto had xdm mags at one time for 12.99. Haven't seen xds that cheap, but still cheaper than SIG mags

Also looking for poly rds for it. Novx or inceptor, Frangable, snake shot and TUI ( Zips thru soft armor) Tkx.

*** shot some flat nose wad cutters too. Runs em. Flat nose bullets usually give most pistols the chokes.
