Ok folks, picked up my Ranch and now I need to figure out a good stock option for it.

Also need input on other modifications you guys have found useful.

I bought a like new used stock here for mine off the forum from a member. Turns out it fit the 308 Predator model instead.
So I did what anyone would do in that situation, and went and bought a 308 Predator too lol.
Now i have a Ruger for each hand
So my Ranch is still factory. It's actually a nice light stock tho for a soft shooting 300. I did however buy some cheap dollar store ace bandage style camo and wrap it all up tho. Made it alot better and less cheap feeling.
Anyways I'm commenting so I see what others did too as I I'm curious to see what folks did to thiers also.

I have the Magpul1207 Hunter American stock on my 300 Blackout and 5.56mm. Timney triggers, Anarchy Outfitters bolt handle and knob, firing pin. I had the barrel and receiver Cerakote applied, much better looking than the Ruger finish. I have also found another source for the bolt handle, Glades Armory.

I got the one that can use AR mags. (I have a pile of those for my standard applications)

I was thinking stock and potentially trigger as well.

@zdiver99 - Where did you get your Cerakote done?
Well the trigger is fully adjustable. I left mine alone as I thought it was pretty good as is. @Daezee

I'm so tempted, but like looking at budget handguns and figuring in costs of upgrades usually just leads me to another HK. Not that I'm a rifle snob, but I've been pretty content with my Howa 1500s. Pretty sure I'll end up with a mini in 6.5 grendel, but still tempting...

@Longtooth I use Cerakote by Ken. I have had no problems with his work and his prices are very reasonable. He has coated 3 rifles, 2 pistols, and a bunch of parts. See attached photos of Ken's work.
If you want, I can send his phone number in a PM,

See link below for his web page.

Nice, need to give it a good test and report. Or you can loan it to me and I'll run it thru its paces! Interested in battery life normal, also in winter ( cold)
If the accuracy is as good as the x39 your really gonna enjoy that 300. Love mine, it's a keeper. Cheap to shoot too.

I've run those thermals on external battery packs via the USB-C port without a battery in the pocket. Easy way to play with it and get it zero'd without running through batteries.

    Update for the week:

    Screenshot 2023-12-30 at 12.51.55 PM.png

Picked up the correct muzzle device from a member here (thanks @Benelli0318 )
Now to zero while it's cold - then on to pest control with the suppressor on.

    @Rebel_Rider1969
I'll let you know how the battery life on the thermal is. Im already wanting to sell it and get a better one, but Ill probably have to wait on that for another few years.

Stock options seem limited, so I'll probably leave as is for a bit.
I do have some wheeler lapping compound to run in the chamber and smooth it out, but I'm not entirely sure that's a good idea. What did you guys use for smoothing it out?

For those of you with this gun, what magazines do you run? Promag? Magpul? Lancer?

I pulled the bolt out, took a small file and knocked all the flashing left from machining off. Check for bits in the action. Took the mag out and worked the bolt about 150 times. Helped with the hitchyness.

Lancer for sure. The best IMO. Lancer makes a see through FDE tinted mag. Maybe MagPul, never ProMag.

It came with a promag and Im not very impressed with it. I have magpull for my ARs, and they didn't seem to work well.
Lancer is the one I don't have yet, but I see they are on sale at Midway.

Have you tried the MagPul in your Ranch? I believe Lancer makes 5, 10, 20, and 30. Midway may not have all sizes but Lancer makes them.
