So I'm in Verizon yesterday and a guy sitting on a stool buying a phone. As he sat his shirt wasn't quite long enough to cover the 1911 tucked in his waist line. What would you do in this situation as I don't know if the 15 minutes he sat there is considered "briefly" under the law? There were 8 or 9 people all standing behind this guy and I didn't say anything until one of the other salesmen announced hey that's a 1911 in his back pocket. I leaned over and told him he may want to cover that up and he said thanks. Should I have said something upon seeing it or just let it go?

    Somewhere, out there.
I would have let him know straight away, as I would appreciate it if it were me in his situation. If anything, you're saving him hassle, and a salesman announcing that he has a gun, as not everyone would have noticed. But on the other hand, he should have been more aware of his shirts length.

Pretty much this. I'd have told him he was showing.

Agreed with the others, a polite and discreet heads up is what was in order.

Give the salesman credit for knowing it was a "1911" and for not making a scene. Most would still be screaming.
