This is my first post other than intro, so hello to all. I have a Winchester 94 with a mfg date of 1897. It is a very cool old rifle and has been part of my lever collection for 20 years or so. My question is about the value. I know what the general value is on these rifles, but it appears that at some time in its life it had a barrel replaced. It is period correct, but not original. What % does this effect value in your opinion? Over all its condition is good, well used but taken care of. It looks like some cowboys daily carry rifle on his saddle. I am considering selling or trading it is why I want to know. Thanks for your input.

too little information to give anything other than a ballpark which you allready know, sorry, but I would hazzard a guess that the barrel replacement cancels out any collector value add on, and reduces it back to just a shooter value??

Yeah, give us a serial number (Using XX as the last two digits) And then a caliber. I mean I have one dated 1916 factory chambered for 7.62X54R. (Certainly rare!) I paid like $1400 for it and considered that a deal.

I've never heard of such a caliber in an 1894. Are you sure that's factory?
