It only stays together and is reliable because it doesn't make any power. Lol

actually it makes approximately 60% of the power it can in stock configuration. Yes that is why it will last 1,000,000 miles.

A few mods and you can get a lot more HP, torque, and great mpg.

Also a great engine to run on used vegetable oil!

I know them early 2000's F250 Diesel trucks took a hell of a beating and a few bullets for what we used them for in Iraq...

Just keep a spare cam sensor in the glove box. Lol. Bout the only issue you'll have out of one.

Yeah the 7.3 fords are just straight up beasts. I'd liken them to an 871 detroit for reliability. The 6.7 after 2012 is proving to be a fantastic engine as well. Ford would be stupid to mess with that design unless they're improving the turbo cooling or EGR.

There have been a few issues with the belt tensioners on the new 6.7 ford's. When they fail it takes out a threaded boss on the oil pan. It's like a 3000+ job to change the oil pan. Front of motor get stripped and transmission and transfer case has to come out to access bolts for oil pan.

I have a buddy who just hit 500k on a 7.3 with stock injectors (if that makes it more impressive). What about these little 3.x turbo diesels or the little v6 being put in as standard? Some even get a 4 cyl I think... but I don’t think I could go for that. I’m all for efficiency, but a tiny 4 seems like it’d just work itself to death after 150k.

This would be the perfect truck for some.
Older 7.3 truck swapped with newer front end and interior. Pretty cool build here. A little high for the year, but a lot of work into it.
