Sweet prints. I have been trying to figure out how to optimize supports. I’ve been using the default generate support settings. Do you have any tips?

Tree supports complete infill on the print with tree supports having a little bit of hollow to them or they’ll be impossible to break off. The way your print is built on the plate can determine a lot too.

Depends really I printed a couple carbon fiber ar lowers. Roll cost about 50$ and I could get about maybe 4 lowers off it.
Can't beat that! I didn't know you can print with carbon fiber yet. Learn something new everyday!

Have you seen that clay you can buy now that is moldable putty like clay, but you can heat it and it turns into metal? I saw it on YouTube and ordered some. I think it will be handy to cast small parts with. They have it several flavors. All I see now are fairly soft metals tho. I got the bronze kind so one day I may make a nice bronze/gold looking sling loop for a shotgun I have. I just haven't had time to tinker with it yet. I'm sure a guy like yourself tho can find uses for it too. I wish I could afford a metal 3d printer. I'd make all sorts of cool toys then!

Haven’t seen what your talking about but yeah can’t print in carbon fiber won’t look like carbon but it’s got carbon fiber strands in the filament. Very tough to work with though printer has to be able to handle high temps for long periods of time without stopping extracting or it will get all messed up quick and around the hot end. Took around 32-38 hours to print and you loose a lot of material on supports but you gotta have them.

I’m not worried about it. I haven’t made anything illegal or lethal. If the gov wanted to know what I’ve made, they already have a record of all my builds since everything I use is online anyways lol I don’t think the tech is able to match the quality of an injection molded polymer so I personally would not rely on it for functional moving firearm parts as the layers can separate under stress and heat. I know some people can do it but I can’t.
I've gotten some great parts from some of my friends on here... example. Unubtainium G22 mags... print a plate and snap on P22 mag, go blast!!! Which one is factory??

Could you inlet the stock to make it take all original P22 mags?

    Yes! Those turned out great!

I haven’t printed much lately as filament prices increased. The only thing I’ve been printing are tags for my trash can cleaning business to mark my customer’s cans.
