Most of the ones I’ve had have been 30 cal with a couple of 50 cal and a 20 mm. I just wish I still had all of them and they were all full of loaded ammo instead of just a couple of 30’s with ammo an another pair full of brass to reload if and when primers are available for a halfway fair price

I like 20mm cans. Great for tall powder jugs, large quantities of single caliber/load. 20MM Are easy to fill but you need to be able to lift/move it, that's where 50s shine. 30s Are pretty much useless if your going to try and stock quantity. Dont even use the for small qty low usage calibers, I stick a few odd calibers in a 50. Same size cans make stacking easy and solid as top handles fit bottom recesses.

I mark Codes on cans so if I'm not the one opening it: Go Fish! Lol I mark Codes with grease pencil below the lid lock (a big dot of white paint will make the codes easier to read). Codes run A, B, C, ... added stock becomes B1, B2, B3. I don't shift ammo between boxes. After the oldest "B" is consumed, clean off markings and Mark as needed for new Stock. I keep a paper only inventory of Boxes, Cailber load and quantity. I keep a small magnetic fridge/Shoping type pad stuck to a box: Create a Drop/Add List of what's pulled or added when its actually done (sometimes new buys get deverted) from each for later Inventory update. Inventory Totals drive: Buy it Now, Buy when on Sale (Lol). Once ammo is pulled, it stays pulled in range support cans or various "house, vehicle" loadouts. Only rarely shot calibers and prep-loaded mags go back into inventory cans. So if you need to grab and go: Can C3M= 5.56 Green Tip, AR mags × X, Can C3 5.56 Green Tip Qty 220, Can B1 9mm 115JHP Qty 580 loose.

    Your methods may vary. Lol

    These are good.
Each can holds 1,000 or more rounds and easy to store. Heavy duty plastic, stackable, sealed and no RUST!
    Great to organize multiple calibers.

Reloading was an economy/accuracy issue and the back up plan for retail ammo shortages. Presses like new guns need to be fed and this is the second time powders have been in short supply and primers are critical short supply. Ammo mfrs running 25/7 are taking the Lions share of primers! IMHO

I’m not supposed to be picking up even the 30’s if they’re full. The 50’s and 20 mm get put into place empty or almost empty. I do what I can

So I have some .50 and some fat .50. The .50s stack just fine but the fat 50s wobble a bit. Anyone else notice this with fat 50s?

Last week I just bought 5 more of the smaller plastic ammo bxs from Harbor Freight for $5.99ea.
Great little bxs for the price.
Stacked properly they will hold quite a bit of boxed or loose ammo and not mar it all up if it jiggles around. Never had a fully loaded one come open either.
Got two of the boxed set from Mike's a couple months ago. Three different size boxes, one fitting inside the other. Two of them are so big that I doubt if you could load em up and carry them. --- SAWMAN

I've got some 20 mm cans they are great unless they are full then are back breakers. I find the standard .50 cans to be just right for carrying to the range, stack nicely, and are not back breakers. This coming from a retired Air Force Aerial Armament Systems Specialist who has handled more 7.62, .50, wooden flare & chaff crates, and 20 mm cans than I care to remember!
