I'm guessing the bottom of the unit is taped to accept tri-pod threaded bolt ?

I love mine, and I can highly recommend. After getting weird/inconsistent results due to changing lighting conditions or not being able to chrono in the rain/fog/low light I took the plunge. Because I shoot a sport where the velocity of my reloads is tested at the match, sometimes I really needed to be able to get that last-minute chrono session in before traveling and the weather wasn't cooperating.

I'm sure I could google it, but what fun is that!! How does this one work, you shoot to the side of it where the microphone is?
