    Item Description
I purchased this new in Nov 2000, on election day a I recall. I sent it to Kimber for the ambi safety upgrade, and later installed the rosewood grips. I probably have about 1500 rounds though it, and it's actually one of my favorite pistols to shoot. Excellent trigger! Mostly I'm selling some guns to clear space in the safe.

I work erratic hours, so email is MUCH preferred. The buyer must be a FL resident, and have no reason to believe they aren't legally able to own the gun. Buyer will have to sign a bill of sale with the model and serial number listed, and supply a FL drivers license number.

    Thanks,
    Rusty

    Series 70, isn't it?

I'm not really a big 1911 guy, so I can't answer that with any authority. I believe a plunger type firing pin safety is a part of the series 80, and I don't see anything like that on the rear of the slide.

BTW, I found the paperwork on the gun, and it was purchased in Nov 2000, so almost 14 years old, not 12 as I originally guessed.

    Cheers,
    Rusty

Yeah, no it wouldn't have a series 80 firing pin safety. Kimber uses a Schwartz safety actuated by the grip safety, but I believe this was made prior to that, which actually makes it quite a gem. I only know of The Desert Warrior as far as being made that way (the proper way) anymore. This would be refered to as a series 70 or Kimber Series I, which is actually a bit of a misnomer.

You've got a very nice and somewhat rare pistol, Sir, GLWS!

Absolutely, one of the top guys out there does fantastic with a 45 1911, and this is an excellent one. One I'd be proud to own. OP, let me know if you change your mind about trades, my fund is currently empty. GLWS!

I'm not really opposed to trades, but I honestly can't think of anything I'd want to trade it for right now. If you've got something cool, let me know, but finding something I want will be a challenge.

    Cheers,
    Rusty
