when i first started reloading way back in the mid 80s, I could reload pistol for about five cents a round. primers cost about a penny each and a pound of powder was around $12. Yesterday I went to Ubers and primers were $111 per thousand and powder H335 was over $44 per pound. Just two weeks before I bought a pound of H335 at $38 a pound. Now I’m not blaming Ubers their Wholesale prices have gone up and to stay in business they have to pass it on to the consumer. BUT i have a hard time believing the cost to manufacture powder rose by six dollars in the span of a few weeks.

OK my Tuesday morning rant is over thanks for listening

What was minimum wage in the 80"s? $3.35 What is it now? $12.00
3.58 hrs to buy 1 pound of powder in 80's
    3.7 hours to buy today.
It's all relevant to the wages a lot of things are actually cheaper to buy today.
Primers are a bit of a different story, supply and demand kind of thing. If people wouldn't pay those stupid prices they would be back down pretty quick.

I've been seeing primers for 79-89 a box lately, a lot of gun stores are starting to carry them. While it's a far cry from the 25-35/box of a few years ago, it's still better than 10-15 cents each.

Minimum wage in Florida is $7.25 per hour, not $15.00.

Yeah, a lot of online retailers have come down in price, but hazmat fees are where you get hit there.
My main reason for going to gun shows! Which I've been unable to go to one since starting my job almost 10 years ago, they always fell on my weekend to work & now I work every weekend...

You are correct. My Alabama education showed up I guess, and I read the wrong line. Still not $15, or I would consider looking for a job.
Just trying to use the correct facts. Everyone has an opinion regardless. :)

Facts? Nobody wants to hear those. Lol.
Let me cherry pick some articles that support whatever viewpoint I currently hold. ;)

But to keep this on track, Im glad I took some advice of form members a few years back and started buying then. I can't believe some of these prices.

Between the "money printing"/ QE and the ripple effects of shutting the world down, It looks like we are just getting started on this ride. :(

Yep, wish I'd bought more primers. Duh.
