I need help identifying the maker of an old double barrel muzzleloader shotgun. The stock, forearm, trigger guard, both barrels, and under rib are all marked with the same 4 digit serial but there are no proof marks or any indication of the manufacturer anywhere. This came out of West Virginia and an old timer up there was guessing mid 1800's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can’t help you with identification of it but out of curiosity what’s your plans for it? I collect old bp firearms, some I’ve got are unknown too.

I'm not sure yet, I was able to remove 1 nipple, have the other soaking to try and remove it. The bores are nice and the locks function well so I had planned on using it some once I replaced the nipples. It's the 1st one I've seen that doesn't have individual side plates, everything is contained in a single housing. Definitely unique , the closest thing I've found with a similar receiver is the original Ithaca double hammer breechloaders.
