Question for members living in Fort Walton Beach, Shalimar,Navarre areas.
I currently live in Crestview, my wife got a good job working for the County.
I am semi retired so I can take it easy. Anyways, her job takes her to the FWB Area almost all weekdays. Now she wants to sell and buy down there.
My question is how to you guys keep your collection rust free in that environment. Dehumidifiers in the safe? I like to have some out of the safe, what about those?

If it is in a home / business with air conditioning, it really doesn't require anything. I do have those desiccant packs in the safe but have never had an issue with an inside safe in these environments.

I'm not a gun safe in the garage or gun in the glovebox kind of person.

I use these 2 products in my safes. Figure up the Cubic Feet and buy accordingly
the temp in the unit next to me is 75* and 45% humidity..
I also keep them in a climate controlled environment...never had an issue.

the rod keeps the temp constant and the Eva-Dry removes moisture and is rechargeable by plugging it in instead of cooking it in an oven like some of the others.

I live between a house in Fort Walton and a ranch in Holt and as long as the guns are in conditioned space, it's not an issue. I have a Goldenrod in my safe for added insurance but I've never had an issue with guns not in the safe.

I use desiccants in the safe and got a large dehumidifier for the room the safe is in. AC doesn’t seem to keep the rust away only slows it down.
