I got the date from looking up the serial number ,i have not looked for a date stamped on the barrel .Is that the date on the barrel or have you determined the receiver was made in 1942?

could have bought a barrett .50cal for $3300 when they first came out... regret that...In my younger, dumber days I passed up several Garands for bargain basement prices. Lots of regret there.
I shoot mild cast bullet loads in my low number RIA and am confident in MY use of such a rifle.

Are you using the Lee C309-160-R double cavity mould…? I’m looking for a Lee mould boolit that will work with the Garand…Me too Daezee in my International Harvester and Springfield!!
