That's awesome, someone who knows something can probably identify what that was attached to. Gotta be a SAW...

Yep that's what it is. It says m249 on the back of the box. I wish the gun would've been there still.

When I used to hunt N of the River Road (RR 211) on Eglin,I came apon several different campsights that has some web gear, tents, blank belted ammo, and several training grenades. I promply threw the stuff into the deep water swamp.

The blank rounds probably will not completely cycle the action of a AR without the blank firing muzzle devive. AND....they will greatly soot up your action. --- SAWMAN

i was wondering if the blanks would be dirty as hell. i was talking about shooting the penetrator and tracer rounds flyandscuba has. why did you throw all of it in the swamp? i understand the grenades and ammo so nobody hurt themselves or someone else but the web gear and tents should be ok. i would be one of the dumbasses that would have to try out at least one of the grenades. i wouldnt be able to resist the temptation. i was never in the military so i never got it out of my system.

The web gear was fairly old and covered in mudd. I was about a half mile into the thickish stuff with my gun and a backpack, didn't want to lug the stuff out,got loads of that stuff already. --- SAWMAN

We used to got to Elgin hunting back in the day, we relocated many m16 mags, many were full of blanks, smoke grenades, mess kits, huge cannon shell brass, camping equipment, gas mask, etc... It used to be a treasure hunt back in the mid 80's... Then we would turn it all in to the guards before we left...:thumb:

Hey....just thinkin' on it...I believe that I still have the location saved in my GPS. Can easily pass the numers on if anybody wants to go mud diving for the stuff. Of course it HAS been 5 years now and my numbers are stored in UTM's. You would have to convert to Lat/Lon. --- SAWMAN
