I like 1911’s and have some in various cals but stayed away from double stack 1911’s because they are huge! Single stacks are already heavy and then add accessories
And ammo and you have the perfect boat anchor.
I saw how excited everyone got for the fancy double stack that just sold on here for $1900. That’s a good price since the pistol alone retails for $2400ish. But without ammo, it weighs 2lbs 1oz! -:)

2011s have certainly been the hotness for the past few years and with the Prodigy it has drawn more attention because of price point. For a ccw, there's options out there if you don't mind a full size gun and the weight that comes with it. YMMV
Edit to say- it's not much more than a full size poly gun

For carrying or for shooting? I’d rather shoot a heavy gun

Bul armory sas ii ultralight, Take a look. Was extremely surprised how well it shoots and it really is ultralight. If your ever in the neighborhood your welcome to check it out. I have plenty pew pew but only a select few are ones I'll keep and not consider trading off to try out other guns. The Bul is on the top of the keeper list.
