DOJ trying to smear Rep Gaetz

The stories this morning get stranger and stranger. Reports are a group contacted the Gaetz to ask about funding a search for a missing FBI agent in Iran. That was spun into extortion.

There's a lot of heresy and assumptions alleging Barr avoided Gaetz IOT prop up media interest. Show me a facts and "named sources" of anything criminal Gaetz is alledged to have done. Feds/DOJ can start and stop investigations at will and upon influence. We've seen dirty deeds exposed with little ramification. Trump, Flynn treated adversely and persecuted and hillary clearly violated several Laws as Comey stated and is let off the hook. How about Hunters Laptop FBI investigation? How about Hunter's false Statements on Form 4473 (troubling enough for the Feds to try and collect the hard copy evidence! All we have now is media mud slinging speculation verses Gaetz "personally" tossing out the B.S. Card.

There's nothing of substance here, just political and media tearing at the flesh speculation. The alleged investigation has been going on for months yet nothing hard from DOJ.

this is a weird story, but I have yet to read anywhere that the DOJ has come out and said they are investigating Gaetz. it has only been from CNN and New York Times that states this, which I am skeptical of anything they report.
I just read Gaetz was showing nudes to other lawmakers reported by guess who, CNN.

I think the unsubstantiated story/allegations are not getting the desired level of smear & public outrage the Left tried to achieve. So now there are "add on" or collateral titillating side occurrences being added in order to try and stoke the dying embers into a raging fire. People, even the dems are growing weary of the constant turmoil and anonymous lies. The drive by media is not a source to learn anything about anything. Anytime you're put on the defensive, you will sound like you're hiding something to someone. A look, a nod everything appears suspicious because people are paying attention. This is especially true when you're fighting a drive by media and they are portraying it that way. And by the way, you believe cnn? Shame! I wouldn't show and tell on previous dates but there are guys that will. Why they do is a question I can't answer but it's not unusual. Weren't laws introduced to make pictures shared before the breakup a crime if exposed after the break up? I mean, come on, oh ye of little faith. Your just adding your own smears. Let's say for now that's ^^^^^ all true. You don't like him, got it. Focus. Show me FACTS and witnesses and not anonymous sources and media spin and hype! If Gaetz did something criminal, I'll push the train that runs him out of town. There's that inconvenient "innocent until proven guilty" thing that actually applies no matter what the kangaroo media court or social media pushes.

We've had the false Trump crap several times and a sitting President Clinton getting BJs and other sexual gratification with an intern IN the White House and that gets him a bad boy letter, a fine and temporary disbarment. Politics threatened one and protected the other. Media wasn't as biased during the Clinton affair as they are now.

On the Gaetz staffer that bailed out: I think he's just getting distance BEFORE it gets nastier and no matter which way it goes: media has already weighed in adversely and this guy wants better job prospects. Probably shitty staffer that abandons ship when the media rocks the boat too hard for him or can't handle the new pressure. Good riddance.
