Costs on internet order

Hi,

Now living in Florida. My old state charged “use tax”on internet firearms purchases, collected by the FFL. Other than the FFL fee, what should expect to pay in Florida? Is sales tax applied?

If seller charges sales tax, you pay it then. Part of that tax is paid to Fl when they do their (interstate) taxes. If they don't charge at time of sale, then most likely you pay it to the ffl when you pickup the item after transfer and bg check fees.
Most people don't realize the paperwork and filing headaches being an ffl. So don't complain too much on their transfer fees. As there's more to it than just calling in for a bg check.
Some sellers pay the tax to their state for the sale, and then the tax is partially disseminated to the recieveing state, in such cases, there is no tax collected from you (in essence, you've already paid it even tho you didn't see it).

Before choosing your receiving ffl, confirm their out the door price. Around our part of the state, that can vary greatly

Some ffl's charge $50, some charge $25. Some collect sales tax on the sale, some don't. Some give you a form to fill out and send in to the State with the tax money to pay it yourself, honor system. Some just say F it. Do your due diligence as to who to use.
