CC law question..

So my youngest is 20, and in Alabama he is legal to carry under the law there, but he works in Florida.. I know they have permit less carry now, but would he be legal to carry to and from work?

Your son can get a AL CC permit (about 15 min process at the Sheriff's Office in Foley) then he would be covered because FL does honor AL permit along with many other states. Good luck!

The problem with permitless carry is often other states may not honor it whereas with a permit in many states you will be good to go.

In AL you only have to be 19 to get a CC permit.

Reciprocity is just recognition of that other states issuance of a ccw, you still have to abide by the laws of the "other" state, and in FL it's 21 , so he would not be considered legal should it come up.

I’m reading it as must be 21 to carry in Florida on another state’s CCP. It doesn’t seem like it’s a gray area to me (unfortunately).

I'm of the opinion that it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. It is better to be alive and in trouble with the law than dead and a law abider.
