60 minutes did a segment on theft by baggage handlers one time. It was amazing.
I quit putting anything of value in my checked baggage when I got home from Maine and found dead grass in my suitcase. Like somebody had opened it up on some area of the tarmac.

I had glasses stolen from my bag as it went thru the scanner twice in Pensacola last year.... I immediately questioned them and they said I must have lost them. I said "you saw me take them off and put them in my bag because you told me to". 3 people handled my bag twice as it was scanned and when I get it thru the scanner the sunglasses are gone... WTF, they smiled & said file a report with the TSA online.... there are thieves in the TSA and the honest ones appear incapable of stopping a terrorist.
