Question.... I found a rifle I want to add to my collection but the cheapest prices I can find are all online. Has anyone got any experience buying online? Is it to much of a headache? Also if I do purchase that route anyone know of the best ffl dealer around Navarre fwb or GB that doesnt charge an arm and a leg to have it sent to?

Most places charge 20-25 to receive the gun and do the back ground check to get you taken care of. To me it's worth it if you can find it and most any FFL in the area will do it.

I've purchased many guns from GunBroker, in fact some of my favorites were purchased online. Its a very, very simple process. I use The GunDr for my transfers. $20 for forum members with excellent customer service, can't beat that.

Awesome. I called Jimmy's in Feb and they said 50 plus background. Where is this GunDr?

Hes in pace right now, but is opening a shop in Pensacola.
I'm in Pensacola, and have been driving out to him because of his service. I'll look up his screen name...

$50 is ridiculous. I would find a new gunshop.
I've never bought one on-line but have sold a few and used Little Jack's in Milton. Very reasonable and he is a member here. Good guy to deal with.

I use TGD because right after making a purchase, I email him the sellers email address, and he almost immediately sends his FFL. Then I contact the seller and either pay with credit card or overnight (though not necessary) the payment. The seller can then ship my item without anything holding them up. Then after the item is delivered, TGD will usually send me a picture of the item, or at least notifies me of its arrival, and I'm on my way to get my item, often the same day, depending on my schedule.
Long story short, TGD makes for very fast, easy and affordable transfers.

The only thing I could add is that on a used gun I usually want an inspection period prior to completing the transaction. A reputable seller will almost never object to one or two days. Everyone has their favorite FFL. Mine happens to be Little Jacks Guns.

Inspection periods are a very good idea. When possible, and if the price is close, I pay the little extra to buy new and/or buy from a dealer.
