Anybody use one of these on their AR ? How is it ? Did you need a riser ?
There's a rebate that ends today making them a bargain.
You can buy a riser or they make one with a riser built in.
Cabela's has them on sale for $70 with a riser built in. Looks like just one piece.
The non-riser model is $120.
Amazon has the non-riser model for $70 and risers are $10.
I don't know that much about them but the rebate ends today.
I have one on one AR and it's great for what it is.
Second from top rifle. With my back up sights I can co-witness through the red dot with the riser. Definitely need the riser if you have a front post site GB.
For those of you who are interested, I have one mounted to an Ultimak gastube on my AK and really think its a great sight. I know the question was regarding ARs, but I have been overall very happy with my little Bushnell since I bought it about 4(?) years ago.
I will say that I prefer the Vortex Sparc AR. Automatic shutoff after 12 hours. One AA battery lasts a couple thousand hours. The Bushnell will eat a 2032 battery in a few hours. 2 MOA dot vs. Bushnell 3 MOA. Attached lens caps vs. Bushnell drop em and lose em caps. Vortex pushbutton controls facing you rather than the dial. Yes it's some more money. PSA has been running the Sparc AR for 199. with 10 Pmags thrown in. Sparc AR comes with a riser too.
That does sound better, especially the battery part but it's $200 vs $30. I'm only getting this because it's cheap, to get my feet wet and see if I like a red dot.
Id recommend the UTG Med-pro Compact Riser Mount, 0.83" High as they will co- witness your flip ups and $10 on Amazon, I'm using the UTG pro sites too.
Well, I ordered one last night, couldn't resist the price. I just wanted to beat the rebate deadline.
Since Amazon shipping is free, I'll worry about the riser after I figure out what I need.
Thanks everybody for your input and advice.
