I had an already sporterized Colt 45ACP M1911A1 do this. I got the feed ramp milled to reliably feed hollow points. It left half the case unsupported as it sat in the chamber, but it would feed, fire and eject anything I wanted it to. Bad news was it went from having decent accuracy to having 10" groups at 5 yards.

The above is why they started putting ramped barrels in so you would have a full supported chamber and the feed ramp was in front of the barrel, I did this to most of my guns. Just my 5 cents jj

Pulled apart, flipped action, nope still doing it. Flipped it back to LH. Shot today, made a pinecone dance at about 40 yards. Cases from today look less bulged maybe? Today on left.
