I recently acquired a 50-70 Trapdoor from a member here. I decided early on that I would only shoot black powder in it even though I have never shot the holy black in my 59 years on this earth. Spent nearly a month acquiring various items and knowledge until finally loading up some rounds and heading to the range yesterday. Had to shoot at the pistol range as Three Brothers is closed on Sunday (and I refuse to shoot at Styx any longer). I can safely say I am now hooked as this thing is an absolute hoot to shoot.

Did you use Double FF powder and what primer did you use?

What load work up did you finish with, I need to load up some myself?

60 grains of Goex FFg lightly compressed under an Accurate 52-450L seated to the top lube groove with a .125 card wad. Primer is Winchester large rifle. Lubed with SPG.

Awesome!!
I was hoping you'd shoot it and let us know!

Sure do like shooting my 45/70 Trapdoor.
Took it out to the ERGC range a few months ago. Ridgerunner and me shot it a bunch.
