Smith and wesson combat survival. $30ish. Bought by accident, thought it was on clearance.
Took it out and tried it out. Works ok. Has the "skull hammer" on the end, well sort of. It's not fixed to the tang very well. One point and not slotted to hold it solid. Did some whittling and some batoning. Saw works, not as good as the glock bayo.* I swear the glock one is the best I've ever used.
Blade could be thicker only about 1/4 inch. Knife has good heft. I hate light survival type knives. Handle has good grip, somewhat grippy and absorbs shock pretty good.
With some fiddling I think I can secure the hammer part so it's more useful. Sheath is good but the knife does not lock in.
Overall, about *** stars. We'll see how the edge holds up.

Try to find one of these. I'm quite impressed with the saw back and the attachment of the handle. Very heavy duty for a hollow handle survival knife. I found mine used at the Pensacola show a couple years ago for like $100, with the original flap-over load bearing sheath but none of the original survival aid contents of the sheath

Had one, sold it on ebay for a lick.

    Good for digging cat holes.

Had some guys in Maine say it was good for cutting blocks of snow to build shelters with.
Yep. Digs good. It's very well made. I also have the kurki with the kydex sheath. It's a good chopper. I want the recon bowie just for fun. What I would love to find is the cold steel brush axe, out of production now though. Great for clearing shooting lines, lanes.

I sold a Cold Steel 3/4 axe to the Army Navy Store on Beal in Fort Walton. They priced it at like $30. Call them up, they might still have it. They do mail order

I still have my aircrew issue Ontario Machete w/ self sharpening sheath. One of the best machetes I own! I was lowered down on the rescue hoist of a UH1-N Huey to "enlarge" some tight overgrown jungle LZ's in Central America with that same machete about 40 years ago! I cringe now thinking about doing that!
