If you can get away with a KRG bolt lift, that would be the cheapest option. If you need some more length, I'd just put a knob on your existing bolt (especially since it's already headspaced correctly). I don't think it's terribly expensive to get someone to put a knob on for you, but sometimes the wait can be pretty long.
Got a KRG on my 700SA. Works great. I would really hate to have to cut and rethread my bolt just to have a bigger lift knob. Seems like it would be an extreme waste of money. --- SAWMAN

I tried the KRG knob first, but unfortunately my particular scope/rifle setup needed extra length to keep skin on the top of my thumb. I agree that the KRG is the way to go, if it will work for the setup.
I would also say that if you put one on your gun . . . install it using BLUE LocTite and do not forget to clean the screw threads prior to install. A buddy's started to loosen until we installed it "correctly".
I have been told that to cut, reshape, and thread the bolt on a Rem700,people have been quoted between $85 and $150 not including the bolt knob. Just for the prep work.
Maybe check with jj. He might be able to do this work for you. --- SAWMAN
