Without going down the rabbit hole, cause we all know it can get DEEEEEEP!, I'm digging into info on the basic alert someone alarm/camera system.

My last house we had Vivint and was pleased with it but didnt like paying the subscription. I want to purchase equipment and monitor on my own. I know I know, it wont have reporting for fire/ems/police. I have looked at this before, but its been a while. Things like blink, ring, and google are available. I'm sure there's others and thats what Im asking about. I'm interested in approx 6 cameras, indoor and outdoor with expandability in the future. I'm not certain I'll have it DVR for days and months of recording, I think I'm more interested in a system that will capture for maybe a few days and then batch delete.

    I welcome your input.

Kenny, I have 6 ring stick up wireless cameras giving full coverage around my house, I pay about $10 per month for cloud based recording, had them now for about 3 yrs, and extremely impressed with them, easiest to install, battery last about 6 months, before needing a recharge, I purchased 3 extra batteries and a charger on ebay for backups. I've bought them for around $50 each when they go on sale.
