Well in pensacola area we have not forgotten the pensacola bay bridge to gulfbreeze that was knocked down not that long ago.

What is crazy is that a hit in just one section takes the entire bridge out. Seems like poor design. Other than the remaining pilings and approaches, it all will need to be replaced.

Who forgot to tighten that bolt!?

In all seriousness, that ship, and we don't know the speed it was moving, hit with tremendous force. No way that bridge could sustain that hit, even a glancing blow.

1:30 in the morning. That was probably the best time for this accident to happen. Could you imagine rush hour traffic?

Baltimore has tunnels on 95 and no tanker trucks or rv s with exturel propane tanks can use so you had to use that bridge if your heading north or cut tru the city
