It may have been a no knock warrant and it was served at 6 am. A raid is usually not conducted for a legally purchased FRT trigger that is now contraband and I hope there is something more to the story to justify such a raid and that is what it is. The victim will likely not recover from more than one gunshot wound including one in the head according to his his brother. The wife that was present was not hit.
The ATF is has not yet released much information about the why of the raids.

Why law enforcement policy has evolved to this point I’m not sure. I firmly believe the 4th is more important to us and our liberty and freedoms than the 2nd. They go hand in hand, but if we allow the 4th to go unenforced we are all doomed.

    Emphasis mine.

[brother] Matthew Malinowski questioned why agents came to his brother’s home so early instead of approaching him at work. He contends the agents “broke down his door” leaving his brother no choice but to “defend himself.”

“There’s something fishy here. The ATF went after him in the worst possible way,” he said. “There’s no reason why they couldn’t have arrested him at work at the airport.”

Malinowski also said it seemed odd that his brother could be entangled with the law, noting that he was well connected in Arkansas, had an annual salary of more than $250,000, lived in a nice suburb and had collections of guns and coins.

When someone makes that much money, there’s no incentive to do anything wrong,” the brother said. “He has so much to lose.”

Meanwhile, Matthew Malinowski said doctors are keeping his brother on life support and not performing surgery because they don’t think he would survive.

“We don’t know how much longer he has to live,” he said.

With the family still wondering what sparked the shooting and federal investigators still not releasing any details, Matthew Malinowski feels the case against his brother doesn’t add up.

“Something stinks to high hell,” he said.

It's to the point now that every time the ATF, FBI and Homeland Security get involved in something they always fall back on the saying that they cannot comment due to active investigation. There is no transparency at all. They act like they are the secret police. Every state in the US have State Police and we have the Marshall's Service and the Border Patrol that's all we need. Let them do their duties and abolish the rest.

I’ll just go ahead and say it:

This could have been any one of us at any time. If you are an active member on this forum and think otherwise, maybe you aren’t paying enough attention to what the alphabet bois are actually doing, and who specifically they’re going after.

I don’t need to know what exact technicality this guy messed up on to know they’re trying to make criminals of all of us.

Nothing but an immense and immediate threat of danger to the public would warrant a 6am no knock raid. I don’t care if he was building unregistered machine guns, this was the absolute worst way for the feds to engage in an arrest. They wanted this.

tracks HARD 100%... the only question is who's next at this point. no longer a question of if, it's a question of when.

Not seeing a need for a no-knock... lack of leadership and judgement.

ETA- Probably some points-based threat assessment gave them the "official" ok to do the warrant execution in that fashion and no one had the courage, judgement, or concern to say "hey guys, hold up a minute".

Can someone from the atf that frequents this forum please tell us members what a citizen has to do to get a no knock issued on their residence cause this has to be way beyond the standard bs they try to rob from our constitutional rights.

You're expecting a truthful answer from a real agent? Probably come bust down my door for this post.

So how far up did the approval go?

The new policy generally limits the use of “no knock” entries in connection with the execution of a warrant to situations where an agent has reasonable grounds to believe that knocking and announcing the agent’s presence would create an imminent threat of physical violence to the agent and/or another person. This new policy is narrower than what is permitted by law. In setting the policy this way, the department is limiting the use of higher-risk “no knock” entries to only those instances where physical safety is at stake. If an agent suspects a threat to physical safety and seeks a “no knock” warrant, the agent must first get supervisory approval from both a federal prosecutor as well as the agent’s law enforcement component.

The policy does recognize, however, that there may be rare circumstances when there is justification – other than physical safety – to execute a “no knock” entry. If an exception is sought when there is no imminent threat of physical safety, the agent must first get approval from the head of the law enforcement component and the U.S. Attorney or relevant Assistant Attorney General before seeking judicial authorization for a “no knock” warrant.

They’ll just shoot and kill your son and wife before they engage you in a standoff…..
