I bet the metal is bare without chromium or nitride on it. I may eventually upgrade what I have to better barrels or not. Not an issue unless you plan on firing thousands of rounds and it also depends whether you do a lot of rapid shooting or not.
It also depends on the degree of accuracy you want or need. 2-3 moa is enough for what I need except for the my 6.5 g and that has a much better barrel.
