I know a guy who has some belts of 30-06: quite a few hundred blanks and “just” a couple hundred or so FMJ. Plus a bunch of links, yet to be “filled”... I don’t have all of the specifics on the links, but the markings would point towards compatibility with a 1919a4.

Quick interwebs research shows a 1919a4 or a6 costing a few thousand, if available.

So... I am wondering if anyone here has experience with other options, or knows a legit place to rent some time on one.

Panhandle of Florida is the desired geographic area.

    Thanks!

You will need to make sure the gun has a blank adaptor. (Not super costly) and may take some tweaking to run depending on the type of blanks you have.

Most people who rent will really want to check out the ammo before renting. They know what works best with how the guns are set up.

Would love to see a photo of the belt links with blanks..

It’s in Tennessee now. Kinda wish I’d kept it, but all the extras I had for it would’ve been lost in our house fire

Figures you’d be the first to respond. :)

    Good points.

As for pics, I’ll see what I can get and post it here.

    Thanks!

Thanks, JJ. “debrezz”... “Daezee”... close enough. I knew who you meant. :) Lucky you for that trigger time.

Thanks, Bruce. Sucks that it’s so far away, but at least it survived. :/

If I have no luck finding a belt-fed to feed, I might end up asking you if you can ask your buyer if interested in some filled belts, empty links, etc. I’ll contact you off-thread, if that happens.

I got sent some pics and made them usable for posting here.
It’ll be at least two posts because there’s 14 pics.

First type of the links. A bunch of these loose:

Then another can of this type of links, boxed up (Israeli, maybe?). Loose links taken out of the box for pics:

First type of blanks with red fill-in (probably wax)

    And the stamps:

The second type of blanks with black fill-in. Bonus cloth links with starter tabs, too:

If you're into firing blanks, look into buying one of the movie prop machine guns that uses propane. I saw one for sale at this Northeastern Firearms gun store in Maine in the Turner area in 2019, just down the road from Scotts RV trailer store. From when I bought my cargo trailer to move home from Maine. If I remember right it was a M1919 and dirt cheap. Like only $800 or so. With the tripod and T+E. If they ain't got it, G3 Firearms in Turner probably bought it from them or they know who did personally. Turner is a small town. There's more people in Escambia and Santa Rosa County than the entire state of Maine. Also, call Mr. Reid. Ask for the father, if a young man answers. Old man Reid runs the largest tactical cop shop in the state, next only to Kittery Trading Post. Old man Reid and I traded a lot. He operates the largest gun show in the state. The Maine patron saint of shooting shit
