Any Germans in the House???

I got this nice German Hunting scene plaque awhile ago, was told it was a Warden/Poacher conflict. Then again it looks like it might be Broke-back Mountain all over again?? Can anyone translate it?? It's all hand drawn and colored , and would look great hanging in the game room. wood 22" dia.

Dan, here is what the German guys said.....

Herr Bauer is likely a group employer. All concerned most likely knew this business entity well.
Gestorren=todt. Someone passed away most likely in 1978. One of the Daffners?
The placard was probably used to designate a table or backroom of a keller dedicated to this group that was focused around shooting (schiessen) and cameraderie (beer drinking).
It was a position of great social honor to sit at that table. Much like a fellowship dinner. Pictoral logo is not explained by the written logo. Their is some other common unwritten historical knowledge regarding the picture.

Here is another translation attempt from a German speaker I know. He didn't get the picture as it was not explained by the words.
"Not an easy one to translate however it is as follows:

Gew. Josef Bauer = Union of Joseph Bauer

Stammtischschiessen = group meeting of shooters. This an old fashion way of say gun club

it was started in 1978 by the family of Daffner"

Thanks, The way I vaguely remember is , the picture is supposed to be a warden and a poacher?? but I guess it may be a celebration of sorts over a good hunt??
