Great idea..lets keep the BF gun deals coming..i was lookin for bass pro ad but havent found yet..anyone kno if the local shops will have any deals to good to pass up
I guess from what I'm seein', Academy Sports managed to scare off peeps and didnt want thier BF 2012 leaked out yet...Im looking for a ghost image to post here again...
Best deal I saw was the Taurus PT-92 (9mm) for $329. They did the PT-101 (.40) a few years ago at $299. It was pretty popular at that price...I saw five people buying them in about a 30 min time frame.
If I could load a .pdf here larger than the allowable image,( I found a scan converted to pdf)... Maybe I'll kjust post a link to the website that has the .pdf ....
scroll down and look for the attached file on the left side of the screen.
I just wonder how many Taurus PT-92's are going to be available and how long you actually have to stand in line to get one....never been to academy sports on BF...
After getting the two pistols home -- and cleaning the excessive amount of oil off of them, I have to say that both the Rossi 44 Magnum and the Taurus PT92 were great buys! The Rossi revolver will make a very nice "truck" gun, and the Taurus -- with the 19+1 capacity and integrated rail for a light-- will make a great bedside table pistol.
Sorry about my dyslesic pricepoint for the PT-92.... my nieghbor and I were numbers 4 & 5 in line and each of us bought the PT-92. The tables there were set upnto process 3 people at a time. While I liked the. 44 magnum they had I don't even want to think of the kick that small gun will have. We were in line outside for a few hours; from what I saw here were about 40 of each gun type for the sale. Now the ' three ' day wait till next Thursday per Academy Sports...
It definitely pays to have a CWL... No waiting period!
The Rossi .44 Magnum is really a 2 3/8" barrel. There was enough room that they could have left it a 2 1/2 or even 2 5/8" when they cut it down after import. It isn't a large frame revolver either - more like an L frame sized S&W with the 5-shot cylinder.
Stoked with full-power Magnum loads - it could make a nice woods gun in predatory animal areas. Thank goodness they didn't port these - I despise ports on a defensive handgun.
The fiber optic front sight is the weak link on the revolver - the insert easily comes out with a fingernail. I think it needs a drop of loctite...
