I am already spec'ing out stuff for the build. I have already determined that I am using a Battle Arms Development lightweight receiver set and a few of their small receiver parts. Still undecided on the free-float handguard. Considering the Midwest Industries new G3 15" SSM or SSK handguard.

Have you ever looked at the 2a Armament stuff? They make a beautiful lightweight lower and some really nice parts too.

I have. They do look good.

I was back briefly for a couple days. Then left left town for a week long class. Now back on the boat.

Congrats. I got my barrel kit a couple weeks ago. This will be my first AR project for the new year. I just started another retro build a few weeks ago and finally have the upper assembly done. Just waiting on the lower now. I do not expect to have it for a few months yet. The LaRue barrel kit will be used with a Battle Arms Development lightweight receiver set. I have already made a list of the parts I will be using. All I have to do now is get some handguns sold that I have listed to pay for this build. It will not be cheap. At least the barrel kit was a freebie

I did get the brake wit the kit. I like it. I just wish I was going to have the suppressor to go with it. The handguard I am look at is either the Fortis 14" Switch 556 Rail System or the 14" REV II. Undecided whether I want Keymod or M-LOK. I may go with the Keymod and use the Switch 556 Rail System. B.A.D. has used these handguards on some of their builds and it looks really good with their LW receiver set.
