Well, a young Lt I know told me he had acquired an entire bucket of wheel weights and that he needed to do something with then so we decided to smelt them into ingots for casting some lead bullets in the future. Having never doing it before we watched plenty of YouTube Vids and I had recently bought a cast iron pot to smelt lead in. It took about 3 hours after we sorted them all, we did it in three batches. We could have done it in 2 in about half the time by we were learning the whole time so we weren't in a hurry. A 5 gallon bucket yielded about 75lbs of ingots from a muffin pan. Not a bad way to spend New Year's Day.
