Sorry for the stupid questions but can someone explain the differences in the 22s?

I'm looking at maybe a Ruger 10-22 and im.seeimg all the different ammo like 22lr , 22mag and 22 hornet. Will a 10-22 shoot most of these? Thanks for any help. God bless America.

A 10/22 will only shoot 22 LR

The difference in the different types of 22s "in a nut shell" is case length, powder charge and bullet weight

10-22 LR is the most used / common size! 22 magnum is slightly larger and longer more powerful , cost more not as common.22 long / 22 short / 22 CB . Can be single loaded and removed by hand ! CCI company makes Shot shells that act like a very small shotgun shell . With plastic cap or epoxy cap ( At work like semi auto or you need to single shot/ load and unload by hand ) #9 shot very small or #4 shot . U Tube videos on what u can load Safely in 10-22! Luck . I'm really looking for something to do a little bit of everything. Target shoot,hunt small game. Looks like the Ruger 10-22 is what I'm leaning towards. Thank you for your reply.
