Not sure if you are looking to be a member or just want to have a long range day but Its worth mentioning that Southern Tactical @ 1000yd requires a membership. Altus requires a membership to get in and max daily distance is 940 yd.

Depending on what part of Milton you are at, Southern Tactical is about 25 miles from down town Milton.

Southern Tactical in Holt has 1000 yards. Takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get there from Milton.

It’s a sanctioned 2day Precision Rifle Series competition with some of the top shooters in the world. Come check it out

Well, I will not be there - and after my Florida CC class I am definitely a master marksman!

Cost anything to be a spectator? Food trucks or vendors? Never been to big competition before

Zero cost. Introduce yourself to the guys at the pavilion. They should be sitting next to a stack of papers and will want you to sign a waiver. Friday is range day usually 10:00-3:00 with a relaxed environment. I would suggest getting there around 7:30 on Saturday and Sunday for the brief just to grasp what is going on. Bring binoculars if you want to see targets. Food truck should be available.

The "Gulf" thing can be fun but if a herring farts within 50 yards of the boat or target, odds of accuracy at distance is poor. On the plus side mag dumps create Bellagio Fountain effects. On the negative side, picking up brass may be an issue. Lol.

Atlas and Southern Tactical are the only setup official ranges in the area. One in Holt. Other in the most northern part of Okaloosa County

Downside of Southern Tactical is that while I drive down Hwy 90 on a regular basis,
I've YET to find the dang place. Keep looking for a sign, but only saw the one in
the Holt School yard...and that didn't help either.

Maybe they need one for us old geezers by the road with a
big Flashing Arrow like the Roadrunner cartoons...

Same goes for that Jay's Range in Baker...tiny sign, blink and you miss it.
