Title II is in the Midway Fire District near Soundside Drive...used to be called Midway out there to state road 399...I lived in the Tiger Point area for a few decades...
I still have no idea why they call huge swaths of the area Gulf Breeze...other than all the mail came from the GB Post Office back in the day...Gulf Breeze ends at the Naval Live Oaks, the area from the other side of the Oaks which started at Bayshore Road to state road 399 was called Midway for decades...then that stopped...it's still designated on County Maps as the Midway Fire District. From 399 to Sound Hammock was Holley. After Sound Hammock it became Navarre...and that's the history from the 60's to about '99.
Back in the 90's there was a push to have Bayshore Drive to Tiger Point II incorporated under the City of Gulf Breeze, but that failed because folks didn't want to pay the extra 1/2 cent City Sales Tax. As far as I'm aware, the area is still not officially part of the City of Gulf Breeze.
Kinda nice but kinda sad to see how much the area has grown...lots of places I used to play are now paved over...wonder if anyone ever put the old Delchamps building to use??
This fellow in the beginning of scenic high way has done transfers for me in the past. I have not been by there in a while. His hours can be a little irregular.
