Spent the last two days doing flagpole maintenance. About 6 plus years ago, CINC Household poured an 8 inch thick pad around the flagpole. As the cement was setting up, she etched/pressed the old style Air Corp National Insignia into it. After it was all dried and cured, she painted it, we ran into a problem with the silver as it didn't take for some reason.
So yesterday she cleaned it all up, repainted it, and this time the new silver paint took. We'll give it a few days to dry completely, then she'll put an acrylic resin over it to seal it.
I took the pole down, gave it a good cleaning, so I can repaint it tomorrow. Pole will stay white. Today I painted the truck and cleat, I'm using white appliance paint on the pole and black appliance paint on the truck and cleat. The eagle topper will be black over a gold colored ball.
The new eagle topper will be here Friday, and the plastic dipped swivel clips will be here tomorrow.
Here's a shot of the flagpole pad. I might be bias but I think she did an awesome job on it. Along with a shot of the eagle topper.
