My new daily EDC, S&W 640-1 Lew Horton ported edition, leather pocket holster works great here in the sunshine state wearing shorts which is the majority of the time.
Back in the early 2000’s I had traded in one of my H&K P7 pistols for a S&W 640-1 that was a Lew Horton ported model and was called the pocket rocket back then.
I remember shooting it at the range and it had a muzzle flash that if the 357 round didn’t do the job, the muzzle flash would scare...
Picked up a classic S&W 640-1 Lew Horton performance center factory ported model for a good price and went for it. Used to have one of these 20 years ago and always regretted selling it. Pistol is in nice shape and I am a happy camper.
Sounds like I wouldn’t be buying anything from academy sports, I don’t like how they use the electronic forum and it’s easy to make an honest mistake. Especially when you have a valid CPL. That’s why I avoid buying from those box stores and prefer my local gun shop.
My neighbor bought the M&P 9mm carbine and we took it to the range and put 500 rounds thru it and I must say I was impressed for the the way it shoots, the build quality and I felt It was a great buy for the money, folks must like it because the local stores here are sold out.
I have also had a soft spot for S&W and my favorite being the 640-1 and it is also not pleasant to shoot full load 357 magnums out of it.
I do like the K6 and it’s about the same size as most J Frames and I use my J Frame pocket holster for my K6S and it fits like a glove.
I have been a S&W revolver guy forever and recently had the chance to pick up a Kimber K6S and put some rounds down range and I really like how the pistol felt in my hand the I feel these have the best trigger right out of the box.
I happen to go to my local gun shop and they had a K6S 3” which...
Horse traded my Kimber K6S Engraved for a K6S DCR, the DCR is more suited for my daily EDC, I got a little cash with the trade and I am a happy camper, I really like how the K6S pistols shoot.
Horse traded my S&W 640-1 for a Kimber K6S Classic Engraved model, I think they did a beautiful job with the engraving on this model. Haven’t made up my mind if I am going to keep it as my EDC or trade it for a non engraved K6S and some cash, I think this is more for a collector, decisions...
Horse traded one of my S&W 640 357 Mags and some cash for my first Kimber Revolver, a K6S (CT) 357 with CT Laser Grips. I put 25 rounds of 38+P through it yesterday and was impressed how it shoots, going to put some 357 through it this weekend, a very well made revolver and I am happy with the...
I live on a limited income now that I am retired and have to be more selective on what I buy these days, I am more of a horse trader when I comes to my firearms, but my 640 Pro Series is my favorite EDC revolver and I won’t make that mistake again.
I have been back and forth and have switched between several semi automatics for my EDC the last year and I have decided to switch to carrying a S&W 340PD revolver as my primary EDC.
I wear shorts the majority of the time here except when riding my Honda Trike when I wear jeans. I most carried...
Started carrying my S&W 640 Pro Series as my EDC, carried semi autos and 1911's for many years and decided to get a revolver after shooting a friends S&W 686 2.5" 357 at the range. I didn't know how much I missed shooting a revolver again after 30 years of not owning one, but there is something...
I took my 640 Pro to the indoor range today and ran 25 rounds of Hornady 38SPL+P through it and it shoots great, the trigger is excellent for a DA revolver and looks like it’s back to the 640 for my daily carry, first time carrying a revolver in over 25 years.
Should have done it a long time...
Finally found a nice S&W 640 Pro Series 357 magnum I have been looking for. I owned a S&W Lew Horton 357 Pocket Rocket way back when and started to want to carry a revolver again, so I found a local guy who had a nice 640 Pro for sale on bought it.
Unfortunately the original Lew Horton pocket...
Ran a box of 50 through my classic Sig P239 Tactical I just picked up and was very pleased with the results for the first time shooting it, this is a nice shooting pistol.
