The Varsity in both Atlanta and now Athens is worthwhile if you have never been there! Great hamburgers and shakes!
Lordys, I grew up in Atlanta and my Dad went to Ga. Tech. I grew up on Varsity food. I remember Flossy Mae with the hats jumping on our VW running board. Best onion rangs. So I'd order 2 chili cheese steaks naked, bag of rags, rangs, large FO and a fried peach pie.

Grover's Fingers & Wings single cheese burger fully dressed ties with Blue Dot's BBQ's hamburger (BD's only burger they make: don't ask for cheese, they don't do additions).

On the road, ole BK and a flame grilled Whopper gets the nod. Great balance of meat, bread and toppings!
Blue Dot has added cheese....believe it or not.

    Whataburger patty melt!
Chic filet is ok if your wanting to get a piece of pressed , then cut ,flopped on the grill and then onto the designer bun please!
You are gonna get the patty melt on you when you put your teeth into it! I catch myself wanting to lick the paper it was wrapped in!!

Whataburger smells like the dressing room at the titty bar!!

Smithfield pulled pork BBQ sandwich (vinegar based NC style) with slaw, battered fries and a piece of banana pudding. I normally get a big fried chicken breast to go with it but that’s not a sandwich. Seems like a lot but I don’t get back to my hometown often as it is the most dangerous place in the state and has seriously declined.

    Me too.

Born and raised there, after "service" went back there to work. I can't imagine what it would take to get me back there again for any reason.

Agree with Jdcouo had better cheese steaks near Cherry Hill than Pat's
I'm from Pcola, my wife is from NJ. Once she got Pat's and I got Geno's.....neither compared to Philly's in Pensacola.

If yall get a chance, grab a bag of harina pan at publix and google arepas. There are so many things that you can stuff them with. I ate them everyday when i lived in venezuela. I still love making them!
