Why would you? Meet in the parking lot. Exchange vehicle info before hand....make/model/color so you know who you are looking for, and take care of business.

Honestly in todays climate two cars pull up to a Police Station and two guys get out making a gun exchange with a BUNCH OF NERVOUS cops around after all that’s been going on for the past several years and they very well may introduce themselves to you at the end of a barrel. Just my .02 worth.

Several PD's in my area have designated places in their parking lots for transactions and child exchanges for shared custody. They are well lit and under camera surveillance.

Arrive early, park where you can observe the designated meeting place, observe the person your meeting with, anything looks sketchy, call the person up and let him or her know that you can't make it.

I pick police stations initially for someone Ive never met before. If they are weird about meeting there and do not have a good reason its a big red flag I dont want to do business with them anyway.

If by private sale you mean selling a firearm then I would not want to do a long gun transaction without giving them a heads up. Anytime I have done a handgun transaction I always do my looking in either the trunk of my car or the other persons vehicle. I don’t go waving things around. I would be fine doing a handgun transaction at a designated sell spot without giving the police a heads up. I would probably make sure the other person understands no waving it around.

Take a buddy, stake the place out and use him for overwatch, cannot trust anyone, make sure his scope is sighted in! have a code word and hand signals worked out with the other party

It's not rocket science. See my post on Page 1. Talk on the phone, arrange a meeting place and time. Find out what they will be driving, tell them what you will be driving. Meet up and get it done. My SUV does not have a trunk so generally what ever I'm selling will either be on the front seat or the back seat and they are free to pick it up and check it out. They then give me the money and they take what ever it is an drive off. If it's a firearm I ask certain questions and make sure they have a FL DL.

I don't know how I feel about meeting at a PD and I'm as clean as they come. Whip a gun out and then hear "drop your weapon" or " get on the ground"
Seems like a good place to get shot.
If you are worried about meeting someone, you shouldn't be selling things. You have more of a chance being attacked not selling something. (Your daily routine)
