Found a brick of 22 lr and a 50 round box of 9 mm 115 gr fmj that I had put in the center console of my Wrangler last summer. These were left over from when I went shooting at a friend’s place

Found Ammo, the next best thing to Found Money. And these days in some cases probably even better.

It was too cold to go shooting today...so...I went shooting. Was the only one at the range. Figured with the cold weather, I'd best take a rifle from a colder country, so I took the 12.7mm Swede. Had a space heater on the bench.

Had my first failure to fire. The firing pin hits off center...rotated the cartridge a few degrees and it fired this time. First time this happened in 110 rounds fired with that rifle. Since I was alone at the range, I picked up some fired cast bullets for recycling into new cast bullets. Always like it when I can pick up some of my cast bullets, as I know their composition, and they can go direct into the alloy.

Counted out some bullets for sale. Ordered 3 books from Ian Skennerton.

    SO - today I made a HUGE round-a-bout......
    • Went to pick up the work bench I bought from from Little Jacks Guns - worth every penny - it is nice and on wheels too!
    • Went and met the guys at Gray Man Amory - talked a while, got invited to have lunch with them - nice guys and they HAVE ammo!
    • Took a chance at WM in Milton - chatted with the sporting goods guy - he said they are going back to limit to 1 box per person - nothing coming in until Thursday - if anything at all - because the trucks got iced in and stuck at the DC. He also said the same thing I was told by a few other WM's = and its GOTTA be the same guy - that is coming in off hours and buying EVERYTHING in the case and shelves..... hence limiting again (Navarre and Creighton are 1 box also // Gulf Breeze started 1 box over the weekend)
    • Went to Gulf Coast Gun - scored a couple of MP 15-22 mags (impossible to find online - I have a dozen on back order now for a month+) They have a TON of ammo - but we know the pricing, so it is what it is. Looked at a few toys as well.
How much $$$ on the 15-22 mags???

$24.99 - they have more on order but dont know when they will come in.
I have a place in NC that I found that have a bunch on order - I ordered 10 - @ 24.99 with free shipping and no tax, but won't ship till first week of march. I have a few sources for them if you need, but all are on BO right now. Most places are $24.99 // some plinker 35rnd are coming back, but they are all $35+ I have a couple of those and the load up fine.

How long did it take? Every time I get a notice, they are already sold out...... (assuming you ordered from CCI)
I ordered it from the CCI on 2 FEB. Deciding to utilize one of my middle of the night/early morning bathroom trips I checked the website and got lucky (thanks prostate!). I think it was around 3:30AM.

Assembled this using the 25.5 oz monolithic lower. This thing is super light. Colt a1 upper, slick side. No fa or hump. 1:12T. I have a flatter finish handguard, will swap it later to match the lower better.

Worked on the last of my 9mm brass. Everything is tumbled and almost all of it is de-primed.

I'm jealous of anybody that has the skills to be able to dig their bullet out and reuse it

Watched "the revenant" movie. Realized that if/when we ever get reduced to only being legal with cap and ball and black powder that the bows and arrows will then have certain advantages. They have a faster cyclic rate and can be made without having a chemistry background or a lab or a machine shop. And can get soaking wet and still work. And have long term storage capabilities. And are more silent than any silencer. Never mind the spears, hatchets, clubs and knives. Might be time to knock the rust off of my childhood archery skills. Find me another $50 pistol crossbow. Before they get outlawed from importation, too
