OSS Suppressors designed based on jet engine turbines.

It doesn't sound like they're as effective as normal suppressors, even with the "signature reduction module," but it's a very interesting design.

I like the the tube is the only serialized part and that you can buy a separate core for different calibers.

    This is interesting.

The interchangeable cores and additional module flies in the face of BATFE regulations.

Any device that reduces sound by more than 1db is a silencer. This "system" would look to be two suppressors.

The language in the definition of silencer contains no provisions that permit an owner of a registered silencer to possess spare or replacement components for the silencer. The interchangeable caliber cores would not be allowed.

So you're not allowed to purchase replacement baffles for a 22lr suppressor without getting a new stamp?

So you're not allowed to purchase replacement baffles for a 22lr suppressor without getting a new stamp?

Someone "licensed under the Gun Control Act (GCA) to manufacture firearms and who has paid the special (occupational) tax to manufacture National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms may replace a component part or parts of a silencer." They can do the repair without an additional stamp. You can't do it yourself. If the tube is destroyed beyond repair, then your out of luck unless the damage was caused by a manufacturing defect. Then the manufacturer may destroy the damaged tube and replace it with a new one with the same serial number.

If its a form 1 supressor that you made yourself, there is a provision to fix it yourself. There are still no provisions to have ANY spair parts. You must destroy any parts replaced. I you replaced the internal parts with those of a caliber other than what was stated on your form 1, then you have made another supressor without BATFE approval and are in violation of the NFA.

    It's complicated.

I would think they have checked this all out and are legal, just ask them. There should be no regs on suppressors anyway as it is a violation of the 2nd Amendment.

I'm sure they have done their homework.

I can remember when BATFE ruled supressor adapters illegal. Now there everywhere.
