what are the differences in the preban and post ban?

Made and imported before the 1989 import ban of “assault weapons”
And to my understanding IMI (isreali military industries) never did import anymore. In short the preban isreali uzis are as close to the original SMGs as you can get without it being a SMG.

They made two models of these, a Model A and Model B. Model A will fire from an open bolt like a machine gun. A model B will not. These are fun to shoot and will burn up some ammo!! I have a model A 9mm with the 45 conversion and mags for both.

I have a model A listed on here for sale as well and I assure you it fires semi automatic from a closed bolt. The only differences between the A and B is the sights, sling points, and something with the firing pin as an added safety feature.

However many model As was legally converted to machine guns prior to the 86 ban on new manufactured transferables.
