Years ago one of my grandsons bought me a model of a Cobra Helicopter, which was made in Vietnam. I explained that my work was on fighter aircraft so, although I appreciated it, it didn't appeal to me. So, under the bed it went. The other day I was looking for a doggie bone for my pup and I re-discovered it.
I would like to give it away to a Vietnam veteran who flew or worked on the Cobra gunships, if they're any around. Anyone got any ideas or suggest

Nice! I have a Huey UH-1P like it out of carved wood from Vietnam. I haven't seen any others like those in many years. All the guys I flew with were on Hueys or Pave Lows.

Any of the aviation museums would be glad to have it, I'm sure. There's the Naval Aviation museum in Pensacola, the Army Aviation museum at Fort Rucker and an Air Force aviation museum on Eglin.

They rarely have any interest in items like this, they are very common.

The Vietnam war has always fascinated me.
I guess because I grew up in that era and Dad was there in 1966.
I registered for the draft in 1973 but I was in college and things were winding down.
A couple of years ago I took a ride in a Huey. Very cool.

Can anyone identifiy what this is a model of? I was just guessing based on internet photos I looked at. We had hueys all over the place in 64-66, but I didn't remember seeing these. Thanks everyone!
