Ok, guys.....I have dual 28" monitors and the pictures getting posted in the "For Sale" sections are still too big. So in the public interest, here is my easy to follow steps for sizing your picture for easy visibility.

For those using Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8

    1. Open your image in MS Paint. You can usually do this by right-clicking on the file name / icon and selecting "Edit". Paint comes with every version of Windows.
    2. On the menu bar, click "Resize".
    3. On the popup window, select "Pixels".
    4. Uncheck the box labelled "Maintain aspect ratio".
    5. Set the horizontal to "640".
    6. Set the vertical to "480".
    7. Click "Ok".
    8. Save the file. If you want to keep the original, save this to a new file name.
    9. Upload the modified file.

For those still using Windows XP and stone tools:

    1. Open your image in MS Paint. You can usually do this by right-clicking on the file name / icon and selecting "Edit". Paint comes with every version of Windows.
    2. Click "Image", followed by "Attributes"..
    3. On the popup window, select "Pixels".
    4. Set the horizontal to "640".
    5. Set the vertical to "480".
    6. Click "Ok".
    7. Save the file. If you want to keep the original, save this to a new file name.
    8. Upload the modified file.

Even better load your pics to the free photobucket and in settings set the size and it will automatically resize all your pics and all forums will appreciate your not using their bandwidth.

While your posting is spot on about default camera resolution settings being way too high (and causing failure of pictures to upload), I'm not sure that's what's causing your issue? All pictures always look fine to me on my 27" win 7 monitor and both my Android machines (5 and 10").

I'd be glad to try to help you find a solution. Maybe we can get others that have a problem to chime in too, and we can see what y'all have in common?

Actually, I doubt most modern camera can go down anywhere near 600x800. The lowest setting on mine is 2048 x 1152.

What is the resolution on your monitors set at?

That's the same as mine. What browser? Internet explorer? If so I think I understand the problem. There is a toggle for this. May not be able to answer right away again.

I'm not familiar with firefox, but I know that ie has a selection to set whether to automatically compress pictures to fit the screen or not.

I use chrome. At least as an experiment you can try that browser and see what happens? If the problem goes away, then you'll know it's a Firefox issue, and can look for a setting in it or change browsers.

I've used chrome a long time and have similar size monitor, and same resolution setting as you. I think this might work.

I run chrome on both win7 and android and have never had a problem. My win7 machine has the same monitor resolution as the OP, so the only thing difference it seems, is the browser.

There's probably a setting in the browser that could fix everyone's issue. I have 20" monitors at work and a 23" monitor at home and don't have any issues with the pictures being too big.

Did you try loading up Chrome, or even another browser and see what happens?

Chrome works but I do not use Chrome nor IE for any number of reasons. I will continue to resize any images I upload if for no other reason than to save bandwidth and server storage.

    Dead horse sufficiently beaten. :deadhorse:
