I just picked up a Savage Model 111 (270) and I think I got a hell of a deal on it. It's has syntheic stock and appears to be in great condition. I'm gonna try to go tomorrow and see how it shoots. I was just wondering what the general concensus was on them and what the average going price is?

Nothing wrong with a Savage. They are more acurate than most shooters and much more reasonably priced than most of the other options. It will put down a deer just as well as a $1k Browning.

Good gun... not their top model but a fine shooter I bet....

If I was in the market I wouldn't hesitate to pay 400 or so used.

I have one of those Brownings, with a very nice leupold scope and I agree 100%. I could walk into Walmart and buy a Savage rifle and with a lot cheaper scope kill just as many deer. When someone ask me what they should buy, especially new hunters I tell them a Savage or other similiar make.

I love mine...one day I'll hopefully be able to buy another in 300 or some other magnum caliber....and one in a varmint caliber.

Savage 10/110's are awesome pawn shop finds. You can really get a lot of bang for your buck with them.
